I Love Dogs

Yesterday was our monthly bead cult meeting, and this time we met at Laurie's.  She has two adorable corgis, Winston and Special Ed.  I love seeing my glassy peeps every month, but I just love it when there are dogs around.  This is Winston.  Once he decides on who will play with him, that person *will* play with him for the entire time you are there.

Hanging out with my peeps always inspires me to create, and I made several necklaces and pairs of earrings today.  I will be listing them over the next couple of days.

Cuteness Alert

Here is Kaylee all woozy from the sedative after having her teeth cleaned. The Devil horns are because she is a demon spawn (this is the calmest she has ever been. EVER). The beer bottle because hubby thought it was funny. :)

Studio Space

I thought I would post a picture of my work area. This is where I melt glass, set things on fire, and generally create. Aside from being curled up on the couch with my hubby & dogs, this is the happiest place in my home.

I Love Dogs

I love dogs. I've almost always had a dog or two in my life. Nothing beats coming home after a really crappy day at work and having your dog freak out because she is so happy to see you.

They can be somewhat trying, though. This is a picture of Kaylee, our 2 y.o. lab immediately after she had a bath. We let her out, and she immediately ran to the marsh, chest-high into the muck. Her scond bath of the day consisted of very cold water from the hose.

Dreams

I often have highly detailed dreams. Last night I had a very vivid dream involving the walking dead (zombies, really, but they weren't the decaying, drooling, eat-your-brains sort of zombies) and dogs. The dogs weren't zombies, and at the end of the dream they were well on a course of leading me to my demise. As we were fleeing the building, the dogs (a weiner dog named Jessie and a Jack Russell terrier) discovered an open drain in the lobby that they had to investigate. I couldn't leave my dogs behind and I ran back into the building to get them. I was surrounded by zombies. And that's when I woke up all in a terror.

Going to be a long day.

Joy

I stumbled across Kate Leiper's work the other day, and I am just enamored with her art. Her animals have the most wonderful expressions, and the details are simplay amazing. I've made her web site my home page at work, and I keep changing my desktop wallpaper. I am definitely a dog person; this guy's been up a whole day. :) I love this quote from her profile, "Whenever I read words, an image comes to mind; yet images offer a glimpse of what can’t be expressed in words."

Take a look around her site, and enjoy!

I've Been Tagged!

Tagging is a blogger's game. You tag someone by leaving a comment on their blog and letting them know that they have been tagged. When you have been tagged you post several random, weird, or whatever facts about yourself. Then go tag seven other blogs. Post the URLs of the blogs you tagged. That's it!

I was tagged by Mary Beth at Novembers Fyre Studio (beautiful beads!). I love to talk, but I have a hard time sharing, so here goes!

1. I love to write, and then I shred what I've written. I've been doing this since middle school. Aside from a few school papers, there is no record of anything I've ever written.

2. I love quotes. I currently have 2 notebooks full of quotes.

3. Books bring me comfort. I have to have books in every room. Just touching books brings me comfort.

4. My two favorite movies of all time are The Little Princess and Hellraiser.

5. My first dog when I was little was named Sadie, and she looked like Benji.

6. The coolest muppet *ever* is Grover.

7. After waffling for over 20 years, I have finally decided on a tattoo. Now, I just need to figure out where, get the $$$, and find a very reputable artist.

The seven people I am tagging:

Vonna

Linda

Hannah

Scott

Robin

Bead Pretty. Buy Bead.

I love making beads. One of the reasons I started this blog is to develop my severely malnourished "toot your own horn" ability. I can babble on incessantly about so many things (Cliff Claven, anyone?), but when it comes to 'me', I have a difficult time.

Having said that, however, I am just posting a beadie, and then it is off to beddie-bye for me. :)
