It is time for the second phase of this Bead Soup Blog Party!
My partner is JuLee Wolfe of The Polymer Penguin. She makes beautiful polymer clay beads - hop on over to her blog and check her out!
JuLee sent me an amazing array of beads; my brain about exploded at all of the goodies!
First and foremost, please realize that her beads are more amazing in person; I recently moved and unpacked my camera and put it in a safe place so I could find it later when I needed it. Well, if anyone is aware of where my safe place is, please let me know. feh. These pictures were taken with my phone.
The first necklace I made with her 'corn on the cob' beads. I love the bumpy texture of these beads, and I wanted all of them in the forefront. I chopped up two sterling silver ball chains for the necklace part and patinaed them in liver of sulfur. I rubbed some of the patina off, and the ball chain complements the corn beads.
The second necklace I created with the steampunk focal. I wanted something a little different, so I affixed a clasp to the backside, strung silk ribbon through the "top" of the focal, and created a choker necklace. She sent several coordinating beads for the steampunk focal, and I originally had them on this choker. It was too cluttered and I like the simple choker resting in the hollow of my neck.
Lastly, I created a long necklace with her domino floral bead. Simple and feminine. Two things I am not, lol, so I will wear it when I am trying to be one or the other.
Thanks for stopping by!!! Please check out today's reveal participants. It seems like a long list, but one can never have enough bead porn. Ever.

I'm so in love with that steam punk focal! A great design in the first one though :-D
Wow, you certainly made some different pendants with those unusual beads well done great inspiration.
hope to see you over at my blog if you get a minute.
Jackie
Well, I would never have thought to turn the steampunk focal sideways. What a great idea.
I love what you did with the corn cobs. I was a little worried about the focal, thinking maybe it was too big. But I see that you solved that problem beautifully.
What great designs with some great beads. Love the corn cobs.
Melissa! I love the multilevel look you created with the corn on the cob beads! It's my favorite! I haven't seen your camera in a long long time! :)
Beautiful work with all these pieces!!! (p.s. - i just moved also and can totally relate to those 'safe' places! lol!)
Hope your camera comes out of hiding!
Glad your shared your soup anyway

All three of your necklaces turned out super cool. I'm partial to that first one as it's so unique and there's just something so interesting about it. Nicely done!

A good soup can always benefit from some Corn On The Cob. Great piece.
Very interesting designs! i love your individuality!
Her beads ARE cool! I particularly like the first piece.
I saw your soup sitting on your table ready to be played with and wondered what you would make. The pieces are wonderful, I love the texture and weight of the pieces.
Ah man, I do that too. Once something is one of the many safe places in my house I daren't move it. I would be amess if i moved! Those beads are very cool, I sure lover me some texture, and that's a really interesting way to showcase them - great job!

Nice job, I would have struggled with those different shapes, you did a great job.
Great work. I constantly lose things putting them in safe places. Why are you called One Eared Pig Beads if I may ask?
Your pieces are so original... Excellent way to incorporate the beads to make them stand out. I can totally relate with your safe place to hide things! It was fun hopping! GReat job!

Sorry about your camera, Melissa. You may have worked him too hard and now he is hiding and resting LOL.
I found saving and zooming in on your pics I was able to get a closer look (dang these old eyes!) I love that texture pairing of the ball chain with the corn on the cob, and the original grouping of the beads.
OMG there is a lot of intricate detail on that steampunk focal. It needed a clean pairing and the silk ribbon was the perfect choice. Hope when Camera comes out of hiding you will treat us to a pic of you wearing it!
Your comment about trying out "simple and feminine" made me chuckle. Sometimes it's fun to play dress-up, Melissa!
I love how you used the steampunk focal with the front clasp - wonderful!
Sorry you lost your camera! Love what you did with her polymer clay beads! Nice job!
